Hi All, and Happy Father's Day!

I recently posted a video to congratulate a client on the birth of their new baby, and am continually struck by the fact that bringing a new life into the world is the best way to show optimism about the future.

We all want the best for our children, and look to the future to allow them to grow, prosper and become more than their parents. Whether that "becoming" is measured in any way--many people use wealth as a yardstick.

That's not the only way children can become more than their parents.

Providing vital services to society is another way. Serving others as good friends and good neighbors are equally important.

On this Father's Day, think about how your kids can do better than you have--no matter how.

I'm blessed to have two wonderful daughters. My life would be much less rich without them, and I treasure them every day.

Happy Father's Day, everyone!

Hi everyone!

I read today that 70% of the Sierra snowpack has yet to melt.

Seems that we will have plenty of water this year for swimming, boating, water skiing, fishing, paddle boarding, and kayaking.

Wonderful news!

I don't get outside as much as I'd like--have some things I need to have fixed first.

I will see you out there before summer ends--and take time to enjoy a waterfall or two while you're experiencing summer in the Sierras.

Today is not a day to fret about markets, rates, debt defaults, inflation, politics, or any of that.

Rejoice in spring. And know that the best way to show hope for the future is to bring a new life into the world.

Happy Mother's Day to all mothers, and to all who act as mothers, wherever you may be.

Of course, for those of you who live in Northern NV, there was snow, wind, and rain today--typical weather.

I promised a close friend that I would post something online tonight. Look for more posts in the days and weeks to come.

Happy Spring (at last!)

Thanks to all who watched, liked and commented on the video Sandi Parkhurst and I posted on the 6th. We both appreciate the interest and comments!

The message we were presenting is simple--if you're on the fence about whether to buy a house, consider that inventory will remain low, and interest rates are on their way up. That means you will have a smaller selection of homes to choose from, and may be priced out of the market by higher interest rates, if not by continued high prices.

We both believe that the best time to enter the housing market is NOW. That way, you can take advantage of current interest rates (which are still low), and maximize your purchasing power in this unprecedented market.

Good evening,

The world is watching the events in the Ukraine.

Daily images of rockets slamming into buildings, the plight of refugees, and the continued uncertainty about Russia's plans have created turbulence in financial markets not only here, but also in other regions.

Interest rates in the US are rising--however, right now, rates are still low, especially when measured against historical levels.

And consider this: For most home loans, a 0.5% rate hike translates to $100 additional on your mortgage payment. What do you spend $100 a month on now? Starbucks? A gym membership you don't use? Takeout meals?

Take a look at your existing budget and carve out the funds you need to start building wealth.

Interest rates are slated to rise in the near future. If you're looking to buy or sell a home, how does that impact you?

If you own, you've benefited from the rapid appreciation in the Northern NV/Northern CA markets across virtually all price tiers. If you are serious about listing and selling your home quickly, consider that overpricing may limit your buyer pool if rates rise soon. Best to choose a Realtor® who can help you set the most accurate list price to get the highest amount of interest. (That also means having professional quality photography and effective staging, both of which can maximize your return.)

If you are a buyer, get a loan preapproval as soon as you can and have your Realtor® locate homes you can afford early in your search. Make sure your specific needs take priority when your Realtor® suggests homes to visit--your time is valuable, and spending time touring homes that don't meet your needs will lead to frustration and disappointment.
