Reno could be getting 42 new affordable apartments. 🏘️ The Reno Housing Authority is planning a new multifamily development at 440 Reno Avenue, with a mix of one- and two-bedroom units, a clubhouse, and accessible housing options. Rents would be aimed at residents earning up to 60% of the area median income, with some units potentially targeting households at up to 80% AMI. The project is still in the planning process. 🏘️ WHAT’S HAPPENING IN WINGFIELD SPRINGS?

Sparks City Council is set to consider a proposal that would rezone 34.75 acres of open space at the Foothills at Wingfield Springs for low-density housing.

If approved, the change could allow for up to 158 additional homes — bringing the development’s total approved units to 2,418.

The proposal was previously denied by the Sparks Planning Commission, and city staff recommended against it as well.

📅 Public hearing: Monday, Aug. 24
⏰ 2 p.m.
📍 Sparks City Council

The council will hear public testimony and could vote on the proposal.

🏗️ A major development is moving forward in Reno.

The 161-acre Ladera Master Plan just cleared another major hurdle after Reno City Council approved the proposal.

Here’s what’s planned:

🏠 400 attached homes
🌳 87 acres of parks, greenways & open space
🏭 200,000 sq. ft. of industrial space
🛍️ 39 acres of neighborhood commercial space

The project is near U.S. 395 and still needs regional review and additional approvals before specific development can move forward.

The World Long Drive Championship has officially found a new home in Reno/Sparks! ⛳💥

Starting this October, Wildcreek Golf Course will host the championship through 2028, bringing the world's biggest hitters from more than 30 countries to Northern Nevada. Idaho-based Alturas Capital Partners has acquired **Legends at Sparks Marina**, a retail center that welcomes nearly **12 million visitors each year** and is home to popular stores and restaurants like Nike, Sephora, H&M, Yard House, Galaxy Theatres, Five Below, and more.

The new owners say they plan to invest in the property, fill remaining vacant spaces, and continue improving the tenant mix to keep Legends as the region's premier shopping destination.
