Congratulations to Sam Olson and his clients on the successful closing of 9752 Silverspar St. for $1,600,000, including a $3,000 seller credit.

This was more than a home purchase — it was the beginning of a major life move.

These buyers were referred to Sam by a friend in San Diego as they prepared to move to Northern Nevada and purchase a business. Over the course of a few months, Sam helped them get familiar with the area, narrow down what they wanted their Reno lifestyle to look like, and think beyond the short-term plan.

Originally, the goal was to find a nice place to land for a year or two while they got settled. But as the search developed, it became clear that buying the long-term home now made more sense than waiting another 2–3 years.

With the help of a great listing agent, Sam was able to secure what felt like the best home in the neighborhood for them — a beautiful 4-bedroom, 4-year-old home in South Reno overlooking green space.

Even better, they were able to use their VA benefit to purchase the home with almost nothing down.

And maybe the best part of the whole story? Their son said, “We’re finally okay with leaving San Diego because this house is just so nice.”

That’s the kind of moment that makes this work so meaningful.

Now Sam gets to help their parents relocate too — bringing the whole family into the Northern Nevada lifestyle.

Inventory is getting tighter in Northern Nevada — and buyers are feeling it.

This week, active inventory dropped 4.4%, bringing the number of available homes down to 828. In simple terms: there are fewer homes to choose from than there were just last week.

For active buyers, that means preparation matters. Having your financing ready, knowing your must-haves, and being able to act quickly can make a big difference when the right home hits the market.
