Big news for Spanish Springs and east Sparks. RTC just finished the feasibility study for a new connector road straight to TRIC, and two routes made the cut.

A direct link would mean shorter commutes and stronger demand for homes on the east side. And you can weigh in tonight, there's a special board meeting at 6 pm.

Metcalf Builders just finished a brand new Holiday Inn Express by the Sparks Marina, a four-story hotel with 93 rooms on Prater Way. It sits right next to their Afton apartment project, so that whole area is filling in fast.

Here's why I care about this: hotels go up where the visitors and workers are going. More rooms, more apartments, more demand for everything around them, including homes.

Big news for Northern Nevada ⚡

Nevada just approved two temporary natural gas plants, one in Sparks (144 MW) and one out at the Tahoe Reno Industrial Center (218 MW), to bridge the power gap for a huge 1,445 MW wave of new data centers. They will run two to three years, until NV Energy can deliver permanent service. Construction starts early 2027.

Here's why I'm watching this closely: when data center growth is outpacing the power grid itself, that's serious momentum. Projects this size bring construction crews first, then permanent tech jobs, and every one of those workers needs a place to live. That's real housing demand heading our way.
