Inland port in Fernley, Nv. As a Fernley resident, watching this port grow in real time just east on hwy 50, I myself have wondered why there is a port being built here and what exactly is its purpose. I obviously know that they drop off shipping containers full of products to be shipped to other locations, but why are they building such a substantial port in this location? This YouTube video has some great information and explains exactly what the motivation was behind building an inland port here.
