Sellers making the most money and getting fast offers do these 5 things before they list their home
1ļøā£ They make the outside of their home look just as nice as the inside. Buyers start judging your home before they even step inside. Ignoring landscaping, pressure washing moss away and old paint can stop a buyer in their tracks.
2ļøā£ They fix the little things. They touch up paint and base boards, they update outdated hardware, replace old worn out carpet, fix loose handles. These little things matter in the overall apeal of your home.
3ļøā£ They make their home as neutral as possible to appeal to more buyers. They clear counter tops, take down personal photos, pack things away. The goal is to make the home feel clean, open and easy for a buyer to envision their life there.
4ļøā£ Homes getting top dollar feel fresh, bright, clean and move in ready. If your home is older, freshen it up where you can, within reason.
5ļøā£ They handle problems before the home is listed. They do a pre inspection so there are no big surprises from the buyer once an offer has been made.
As a seller, your first impression is made online. You get one opportunity for potential buyers to stop their scrolling. The next is making sure your home looks just as good in person as the photos portray.
These are all the things I talk about during a pre listing consult with my clients and I walk them through every step of the process and bring in other professionals when needed to help your home shine when it hits the market.
If selling is in your future, even if itās months out or next year, letās start the conversation so your home can be ready.
