I keep thinking about this sunset the other night
Went on a hike with women from our church.
And I almost didn’t go was settling into a Sunday at home the last one before basketball season busy schedules started.
But I decided more reason to go and do something just for me.

I hiked along women I know and met new ones too.
We went down the mountain then back up and sat waiting for this sunset together.

Had I not come not only would have missed this view.
I would have missed the pause as the day slipped away to the night. I wouldn’t have been known what time exactly the sunset happened and instead I waited anticipating and counting down.
After the last bit of light slipped out of sight and a vibrant splash of colors in the sky replaced where the sun just was … someone in the crowd alongside us clapped.
Then we all cheered too.
It was beautiful.
It was slow and sweet.
It was simple.
A magnificent sunset ending a day
