The heat this week is off the charts, and everyone here in Virginia is trying to stay cool! If you need a few ideas on how to beat the heat, here are a few places you can check out!

Splash Parks and Water Parks- This is a great option if you have little ones! The kids will have fun playing and there’s shady areas for parents or you can join in on the fun! Culpeper has Rockwater Park, and in Fairfax County there’s Our Special Harbor Splash Park in Franconia, Atlantis Splash and Water Park in Centreville, and Pirate’s Cove in Lorton, among many others all over the area!

Pools- Most areas have local public pools- here in Fauquier we have a few! Or if you’re lucky, you may have a friend who has one!

Beaches- Virginia is home to so many beautiful beaches, such as Virginia Beach, Colonial Beach, and several others! If you are up for a road trip, you may find relief from the heat and a beautiful view!

Lakes- In addition to our beaches, we also have other bodies of water perfect for cooling off. Lake Anna is a great local example!

If water isn’t your thing, there’s always air conditioning and ice cream! 🍦
