Is Pre-Approval really Necessary?
I highly recommend buyers get pre-approved before starting the search process.
• It gives you a starting point as to what type of home (listing amount-wise) you should begin searching for. You don’t want to tour homes in the $250,000 range when you can only afford $150,000 and vice versa.

• Being PRE-APPROVED is a start. Being Pre-Qualified is even better. Nothing hurts as much as finding the house you love and you lose it when someone else beats you to it because you were not completely ready.

Even if you have a low credit score, a mortgage isn't out of reach. It may cost more up front, but you don't need a perfect credit score to buy a house. Your financial worth goes beyond that one number, and lenders know it.
