Big congratulations to Matthew on his brand new (FIRST) home! It was truly a pleasure getting to walk through everything with you!
There are some awesome things that come with being a realtor (we’ll ignore the annoying things for now), but nothing is a bigger honor for me than helping someone purchase their first home and have that dream realized.
Are there difficulties with entering the market with your first home purchase? Of course, especially in the current times and being in DFW. Between the interest rate swings, general cost of living, and timing the next major war, it can totally feel like a moving target, and anyone that says it’s a cakewalk is not giving the full picture.
But for real estate, it’s the same as they say with the stock market- time in the market always beats timing the market. In 14 years, I’ve worked through plenty of cycles, and there is always something the comes around that is not in your plans.
If your cards are played right (and you have the right realtor with the right strategies 😉), there are currently some opportunities for first time buyers that likely won’t exist when the headlines smooth over- especially if interest rates eventually move lower.
More choices. Not fighting the masses. Actual negotiating.
With the headlines like the one below, it makes me proud to know that I’m helping boost that percentage with multiple first timers already this year- who’ve also gotten some amazing deals and incentives!
