I experienced a vital loss/connection recently and it amazes me how God works. Feeling down after coming from the hospital, I decided to get some food. I was greeted and the service was great. I was checked on by a particular manager and when they asked how my night was going, I said “it’s been a long night”. I briefly explained What took place. Concluding my meal, I was told that my meal had been taken care of. This gesture went along way, especially for a night that was challenging and emotional. They added value in that moment when needed. The power of community and compassion. Of course I felt compelled to express this through a review and add value back by reciprocating. A beautiful moment that I wanted to share.

The Beginning:

Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. is the first international fraternal organization founded on the campus of a historically black college.

On the evening of November 17, 1911, Omega Psi Phi was founded inside the Science Building (later renamed Thirkield Hall) at Howard University located in Washington, D.C. The founders were three undergraduates — Edgar Amos Love, Oscar James Cooper and Frank Coleman. Joining them was their faculty adviser, Ernest Everett Just.

From the initials of the Greek phrase meaning, “friendship is essential to the soul“, the name Omega Psi Phi was derived. That phrase was selected as the motto.

Manhood, Scholarship, Perseverance and Uplift were adopted as Cardinal Principles.

We are dedicated to the service our communities. It has been and will always be our duty!

One thing about life is that traditions will happen. How do you adjust? How do you pivot?

I remember sitting down placing in my heart that I wanted to obtain my Real Estate License, dominate this as a goal. One thing about me is that once I put my mind to it, it hone in and apply myself to achieve it.

Studying hours and hearing stories about how most would have to take the test twice, three, four times and even more. I passed on the first attempt ✅ .

If you can see it, you can do it. While I am no longer in the industry and associated with Centurty21, the experience and journey is truly appreciated. You never know what you’ll do in life, but whatever you do, DO IT! As I have pivoted many times, I look forward to what’s coming, accepting the challenge to build it and DO IT🤝🏿!
