Today is Groundhog Day!
The first official Groundhog Day celebration took place on February 2, 1887, in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania. How accurate are groundhogs? Studies by the National Climatic Data Center and the Canadian Weather Service have yielded a success rate of around 50 percent for Punxsutawney Phil. While most of us here in West are hoping for no shadow, we should probably leave the weather forecasts to the Weather Service.

Richland Walks Wartime Houses

Join our volunteers as they lead a walk among the pioneering alphabet houses - the remarkable wartime homes on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at 9:00am. Meet at the corner of Wilson Street and Johnston Avenue by Chief Jo Middle School. Walks are weather permitting.
