Remembering back when...

This wall started as almost half of what it is now with a basement access door that was shorter than me!!
We previously shared the hidden door that was repurposed from a closet that was demolished, which enabled us to have a full height door. This post will show a few other steps along the way to get us to where we are now...
The original wood had many layers of paint which we confirmed that Drummond's is GREAT for multi-layer paint removal! So, after paint removal, it was time for primer and paint, so the girls are I spent a little creative quality time. Now this is where we are..
The Stair Risers are in process as we speak!!

Here's a small but time consuming project that was done to add charm. The layers of this project made it seem like it took awhile, but we are extremely happy with the outcome!
This is a stripped down, original wood, chase to provide a permanent hiding place for power and aux cords, a solid TV mounting area and something pleasing to look at while doing its job. Check out a few steps of the process and drop a comment if you like!

This is definitely an old piece of work by some other creative artist that I am not aware of... But the image does so much for this post that's been laid on my heart lately.

I've been shown more and more every day how we all see things so differently and how that difference of comprehension can lead to great conversion, and other times great confrontation!
Perspective is something we all come to understand in our own time, but I want to bring it to the front of our minds to always remember, everything we take in is from our own perspectives... and the same for the next person. So, when we are dealing with one another, try to always remember to consider someone else's point of view, and when necessary, have while doing so.

It's not always black or white.. right or wrong... sometimes it can be both. Just consider it... or... Be considerate... 🤷🏾‍♂️🤷🏾‍♂️🙂

Working through and sharing the process of another house has been amazing, but I can't allow such a special day to go by without acknowledging and showing appreciation for the job, work, career and business that makes it all possible for my family and me.
Yesterday 10/12 was 9 years since the beginning of and my truck driving career. Thank God for all of the safe driven miles and to many more, and thank God for my wife .s.williams1127 who serves as my annual reminder to take a brake to celebrate the wins. Never mind going out to spend time with this amazing woman.

Well, this is definitely a step in the right direction.

Zoning update...... LOADING

For those who know and remember; or dont... We purchased our property with the intentions of splitting the lot and building a second house in the foreseeable future. This process was started in Nov-Dec 2020, and we are finally to a point where we can see a light at the end of the tunnel.

This in no way means that the necessary approval will be given, but we are hoping and praying that all goes as we would like and we get two property parcels for one. 🙏🏽 Throw a prayer or two up for us if you don't mind and feel encouraged to notify the necessary public officials if you are tied in and support the project.

So... check out the hidden door install done with all refurbished wood from this same house. I know it still looks rough, but imagine after a little TLC and paint job.. This wall will look almost brand new.

This also shows the bottom floor window and door trim that we have been reusing. It's not the most time conscious project, but it separates the look of these from any types of trim that can be purchased from the big box stores.

The materials and workmanship that are shown through the craftsmanship from that approx. 100 year old era are almost unmatched! In my mind; more than worth preserving.
