Start 1 Spark recently hosted two sports physical clinics at Brookland Middle School, helping students complete an important requirement for trying out and participating in school athletics.

A huge thank you to the Kiwanis Club of Henrico for providing volunteer support to PedsFirst for dedicating the time and care needed to complete the physicals. We're so grateful to ICNA for providing interpretation and translation services so every family felt informed, supported, and welcome.💙

🏠 Aging in Place Series | Home Safety Tips for Older Adults

I've been sharing practical aging-in-place tips here for a while now, and today I want to highlight something from the National Institute on Aging that's simple, actionable, and worth saving.

A few small home modifications can help older adults stay safe and live independently longer:

✅ Remove area rugs and fix carpets firmly to the floor
✅ Ensure good lighting — especially at the top and bottom of
stairs
✅ Install grab bars near toilets and in the tub or shower
✅ Add nonslip strips on floors and wet surfaces
✅ Install a ramp with handrails to the front door
