🎉✨ Chapter 55 ✨🎉

I still can’t believe I’m 55! My mind is out here lying like, “Girl… you’re 35,” but this body be saying, “Sis… sit down somewhere.” 😂

But listen — this year was one for the BOOKS.
I accomplished so much, I grew so much, and I’m nowhere near done.

✨ I started a WHOLE movement —
✨ I’ve walked 489 days straight
✨ I’ve inspired folks on Facebook, IG, and TikTok to get up and MOVE
✨ I’ve been choosing my health every single day
✨ And menopause? She’s been TRYING ME… but I’m still standing 😅🔥

I’m grateful for my family, for the strength God gives me, and for every gift He’s poured into me.

Here’s to Chapter 55 — more joy, more movement, more purpose, more blessings.
Let’s go. 💖✨

🕊️ Rest in Peace, David Lee Scott Jr. 🕊️
A true icon. A creative genius. A pillar in the dance community.

David was the heartbeat behind some of the most legendary choreography we’ve seen, including You Got Served and countless other unforgettable projects. But beyond the accolades and credits, Dave was the inspiration for so many young dancers—including my son, Richard.

I first met David at the Monsters of Hip Hop Dance Convention. I’ll never forget the spark in my son’s eyes every time Dave stepped on that stage to teach. He had a way of making kids feel seen, powerful, and part of something greater.

At The Pulse on Tour, Dave was the only instructor teaching hip hop. I watched the respect pour out of those kids as they switched gears—throwing on their hoodies and sneakers—ready to give their all for him. He was more than a teacher; he was a moment. An energy.

One of my most cherished memories: Dave was hosting a master class fundraiser in L.A. to support a parent battling cancer. We were in Northern California, and my son looked at me and said, “Mom, I want to take Dave’s class.” Without hesitation, we packed up, drove six hours to L.A., he danced his heart out, and then we drove back home. That’s the kind of impact David had—he moved people, literally and spiritually.

He was full of joy, silly when you least expected it, and always carried a smile that lit up the room. His legacy is deep, his spirit unforgettable.

Thank you, Dave, for everything you poured into the culture and our children. You will forever be missed. 💔

Rest in power, David Lee Scott Jr.

Happy 29th Birthday, Richard! 🎉💛
In just 29 years, you’ve done what most people spend a lifetime trying to figure out. You’ve created your passion, built your legacy, and stayed grounded the entire way.
From the studio to the stage, from student to leader you continue to rise with purpose and grace.
I hope you take a moment today to truly feel how far you’ve come and how deeply you’re loved. Enjoy your day to the fullest.

So with all the news about my profession and my fellow REALTOR’s, here’s a breakdown of just some of what we do for our clients and communities…

Hold on, it is about to get real, please read to the end-

There is a lot of talk in the news about real estate agent commissions because the government wants to change 100 year old customs. But I digress…
Most Realtors LOVE what they do and they do it because they LOVE helping people but there is almost always a huge misconception on WHAT they do and how they get paid.
It's actually not a secret anymore so let’s pull back the curtain a little bit and take a deeper dive !!

*The average FULL TIME REALTOR’s earnings last year was $31,900 @ 40+ hours a week.
(Notice I wrote full time 40+ hours not 0-20 hours a week) which is well below the living wage.
As a REALTOR they do not get paid a hourly wage or salary and they only get paid if they sell a home and it closes.
They can only get paid by broker to broker.
As an agent you could work with someone for days, weeks, months, or years with no guarantee of a sale ever !! Basically gambling your time every day !!

Essentially a Realtor will wake up each day unemployed, going on Job Interviews every week and they deal with constant rejection.
They tirelessly dedicate time away from their family, pay for their own gas, pay for babysitters, miss family dinner and don’t take off weekends and rarely take vacations.
They are on call for their clients 24/7!
As a Realtor, you constantly need to be ready to work or you could miss an opportunity. Once they do close a home for a client, half goes to the other persons agent from the remaining half.
Sometimes half of the other half goes to their broker.
They have lots of upfront expenses that must be paid out before they even get paid:

Broker Splits and Fees
Office rent and utilities
MLS Fees
NAR Fees
Local Association Fees
E&O Business Insurance
Extended Auto Insurance
Self-Employment Tax
State Licensing Fees
Advertising Fees
Showing Service Fees
Website Fees
Assistant's Salaries
Showing partners
Transaction coordinator
Yard Signs
Photographers
Videographers
Office Supplies
Business Cards
Property Flyers
Electronic Lockboxes
Continued RE Education
Legal Fees
Gas
Income taxes are not taken out so they have to put that aside for Uncle Sam (around 25-30%)
…and Don’t forget health insurance if you don’t have a spouse with a salaried job that has it for the family.

As a listing agent they have lots of tasks far more than just photographing the home 🏡 with their iPhone 📱 and inputting the listing on the local MLS 💻
