This one came full circle in the best way.

Kristin had the pleasure of helping her buyers secure their next home on King William Road, a property filled with potential and the perfect canvas for two seriously talented DIYers. They already have big plans to transform it from top to bottom, and we cannot wait to see their vision come to life.

But before the renovations could begin, there was another piece of the puzzle: selling their current home.

MEET ZEKE. 🐾

What looked like a harmless lump turned into a diagnosis no pet owner ever wants to hear.

Zeke’s lump was initially thought to be a lipoma. Instead, it was a rare cancer that would require radiation treatment, bringing with it an incredibly difficult decision for his family: Would treatment give him a meaningful outcome? And how would they manage the significant cost?

That’s where FETCH a Cure stepped in.

Through its Companions in Crisis program, Zeke’s family received a grant that helped make his treatment possible.

The road wasn’t easy. There were difficult days and a challenging healing process. But Zeke responded tremendously well.

Today, he returns for oncology checkups every six months and continues to do beautifully.

For this month’s Local Business Spotlight, The Collection is honored to share stories like Zeke’s and shine a light on the work FETCH a Cure is doing for pets and the people who love them throughout our community.

You’ve seen them around Richmond. 🐾 But do you know the story behind them?

Those iconic steel dogs spotted outside local restaurants, businesses, and homes are doing something pretty special: helping real dogs and cats get the cancer treatment they need.

For this month’s Local Business Spotlight, The Collection visited FETCH a Cure to learn more about the steel dogs that have become such a recognizable part of Richmond.

Each year, local artists transform these blank steel sculptures into one-of-a-kind works of art, which are then auctioned to support FETCH a Cure’s work and help fund cancer treatment for pets in need.

It’s a beautiful intersection of so many things we love about Richmond: local art, community, creativity, and a whole lot of love for our four-legged family members.

And once you know the story behind these dogs, you’ll start noticing them everywhere. 🤍

THE TOUR CONTINUES | PART 2 ✨

Sometimes the best renovation isn’t about replacing everything. It’s about knowing what’s worth keeping.

At 11700 Braystone Lane, the original wood cabinetry in both the living room and kitchen was preserved, cleaned up, and given new life with updated hardware. With wood tones making their way back into interiors, keeping these original details allowed the home to retain so much of its warmth and character.

In the kitchen, leathered granite countertops were added for a beautiful, durable finish, while the existing cabinetry ties naturally into the rest of the home.
