This s a repost. I appreciate our military more and more. Some time ago we met a submariner from Submarine Squadron Six out of Norfolk. I thanked him for his service. Several weeks later a letter and a package arrives at my office. With the letter was a US Navy command coin and the package contained the photo below. This was several years ago, but it shows how grateful our men and women who serve are when we show them even the smallest appreciation! The four boats are very rarely docked at the same time, making this even more special! We can never show enough appreciation! 🇺🇸

While my time as a board member has expired, our relationship with you has not!

Good progress being made by on the Kellogg Building in Cape Charles. Most structural repairs complete and roof deck installation in progress, repair of “sheep’s ears” almost done. Watch this space for progress!

is very proud to have been awarded the project to rehab this iconic building in Cape Charles on the eastern shore! This is the Kellogg Building, a Jacobean Revival ( ES2.1) (c. 1926), a former automobile dealership and attached gas station constructed of tan and brown brick. Stay tuned to find out the what the owners have in store for this incredible historic building. This will be third rehab of an historic building in Cape Charles

I learn a lot of history from a good friend who is 12th or 13th generation on the eastern shore. I’ve never been good at history but his enthusiasm and obvious knowledge of the shore has definitely piqued my interest a lot. Here is a building that he made me aware of and the history that goes with it. It is the old Lifeboat station on Wallops Island.
This station is located in NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility (WFF). The first station, built in 1883, was destroyed by a hurricane in August of 1933, and rebuilt that same year. It was discontinued in 1947 and acquired by Navy Department as a firing range. Located along the main access road toward the northern end of Wallops Island, the two-and-one-half story Colonial Revival building originally served as the Wallops Beach Lifeboat Station. How great would it be to see this building brought back to life one day?
