Progress continues at St. Elizabeth Street, where Greenway Village is moving closer to becoming a welcoming new community for Richmond families.

Once complete, Greenway Village will provide 56 affordable rental homes across 14 buildings for households earning 40% to 60% of the area median income.

Beyond the homes themselves, the community is designed to support connection, with a walking path to the nearby school and parish, along with space for supportive services.

We’re grateful for the partners and trade partners helping bring this vision to life: Commonwealth Catholic Charities, Arnold Design Studio, Baskervill, Timmons Group, and many more!

Another exciting update for UrbanCore! Our project at 2100 Bainbridge Street is now leasing!

Located in Richmond’s Swansboro neighborhood, this new affordable senior housing community brings 83 new homes, all of which will be rented to households at or below 60% of the Area Median Income, to the city and transforms a once-derelict site into a place built for connection, stability, and long-term impact. With part of the original train service station preserved as a community space, this project is a powerful example of thoughtful infill development in action. This is what hope looks like.

We were thrilled to partner with Roc Solid Foundation again this year to build a backyard playset for Emerson and his family. On a beautiful day, we had the privilege of building right alongside Emerson and his brother as their new playset came together.

It’s an incredible honor to be part of something like this. Days like these bring our team, spouses, and kids together while reminding us what really matters: serving others and doing the right thing.

Our core value, Always Do the Right Thing, was on full display.

Exciting progress on St. Elizabeth Street. Greenway Village is taking shape, and we’re proud to be part of a collaborative effort to bring more affordable housing to Richmond.

Through the partnership behind this project, this new community will deliver 56 affordable rental units across 14 buildings for households earning 40% to 60% of the area median income, while also creating a connected, supportive neighborhood with a walking path to the local school and parish and room for supportive services.

Take a look at the transformation of what was once called the ‘worst building on the block.’

This 100+ year-old, 17,000-square-foot property sat boarded up on Broad Street for years until our Special Projects division partnered with Walter Parks to bring it back to life.

The building has been thoughtfully renovated into a mix of apartments and commercial space, preserving many original historic elements, including the wood floors, ceilings, and skylight.

Reviving unique, historic properties is what our Special Projects team does best, and this is exactly the kind of transformation we’re proud to deliver!

Here’s a peek behind the scenes at one of our ongoing projects in Richmond, VA - St. Elizabeth Apartments!

Framing for the community building is now complete, and we’re excited to begin framing the remaining buildings soon. Crawlspace foundations are nearly finished across all 15 buildings. Even with a tight and challenging site, our team, working hand-in-hand with our design partners, continues to keep the project progressing smoothly.
