DAYS 3–9 OF THE 30-DAY 5K CHALLENGE 🏃♂️
I know I’ve been a little quiet on the running updates, but I promise I haven’t quit! I just didn’t want to completely spam everyone’s feed with a video every single day, so I’m combining Days 3–9 into one update.
And let me tell you… these last few days have been a LOT.
Day 3: It was 98° outside, so there was absolutely no way I was running outside. 😂 I hit the treadmill and cranked it up to a 10 incline. I’m learning very quickly that there is a big difference between thinking you’re in shape and actually running.
Day 4: Somehow it was even hotter about 100° so I stayed inside again. This was also the day I really started feeling it in my legs. I could tell my body was realizing, “Oh… we’re actually doing this every day.” I ordered some potassium from Amazon and, I felt a HUGE difference afterward. My legs were feeling much better.
Day 5: Still ridiculously hot, but I really do love being outside, so I decided to run the actual course. And this was the first day I really started noticing something…
I WAS GETTING BETTER.
It wasn’t suddenly easy, but I could feel an improvement. I was running farther, recovering better
Day 6: Same thing back outside and thankfully a little cooler. THANK GOD. 😂
Day 7: I gave my legs a little break and did a shorter run inside, while mixing in a little upper-body workout.
And that brings us to…
Day 8: FINALLY, the heat broke! 🙌🏻
This was a long one, and honestly, it was probably my most enjoyable run so far. The weather was cooler, and for the first time I really started enjoying the process instead of just thinking about how much longer I had to go.
Day 9: I just finished this one tonight, and THIS is the progress I’ve been waiting to see.
I was able to run farther than I have before, and somehow I actually felt better AFTER the run than I did before it.
Nine days in, I can honestly say I’m already seeing and feeling a difference.
I’m running farther.
I’m recovering faster.
My legs are getting stronger.
And most importantly, I’m starting to believe I can actually do this.
Day 9 complete. ✅
21 more days
LET’S KEEP GOING. 🏃♂️💨
