The Limekiln Natural Area in Redding “takes [its] name from the limekiln operation that was located nearby in the early 19th century. One writer reports that all the hills in this vicinity “were stripped of firewood” to fuel the kiln, where limestone under intense heat was reduced to a powder used in the manufacturer of plaster.”

An unnamed tenant has signed a lease for nearly 86,000 square at The Towers office complex in Norwalk, which stands next to the Merritt 7 Metro-North station.

Yesterday’s commercial broker’s meeting was held at the Fairfield Hills campus. Familiar to our family as members of the community center, users of the NYA, and frequenters of NewSylum, it was great to hear about all the town has done and plans to do to bring more businesses to the beautiful campus. The new location for your business may be closer than you think!

Newtown’s Fairfield Hills campus was declared a national historic landmark, which "opens the door" for a Boston-based developer to convert two of the largest former hospital buildings into 169 apartments and shops.

The developer can now convert two hulking structures known as Kent House and Shelton House into the first housing on the 185-acre campus since the town bought the property in 2004.
