September always feels like a fresh start. Back to routines, lots of projects in the works, rooms finally coming together and our studio tables covered in samples again.

We’re heading into fall with lots of color, pattern, personality and, hopefully, a few unexpected choices. Because the best rooms should feel collected, a little fun and most importantly, like the people who live there.

And this cozy little music room feels like the perfect place to welcome September.

This before + after is the perfect example of why we created this service. (Swipe for the before).

Our client had the vision and was ready to manage her kitchen renovation herself — she just wanted a designer in her corner to help her confidently make decisions and keep the project moving forward.

And sometimes that means telling you not to do something.

In this kitchen, our client considered using a darker grout to pull out the veining in the marble. In theory? It made sense. But we knew it would compete with the stone, create too much contrast, and ultimately take away from the beautiful, elevated aesthetic we were creating.

It’s a small decision that could have made a BIG difference in the finished space — and exactly the kind of detail that’s easy to second-guess (or get wrong) when you’re making hundreds of decisions during a renovation.

As summer begins its slow goodbye, we're squeezing in every beach day we can.

Featuring one of our most coastal inspired projects to date—soft textures, sun-washed tones, natural materials, and spaces that feel as relaxed as an afternoon by the water.

The dog days of summer are officially here..., I'd be lying if I said I wasn't looking forward to a little more structure. Less time spent shuttling teenagers around in the middle of the workday and a few more cozy mornings with a predictable routine.

Until then, I'll just admire spaces like this and dream about crisp mornings, a crackling fire, and curling up with a good book.
