It’s “Facia” Friday at the Sommerset Road Build!

Notice how the solid facia board at the end of the truss tails? This wood produces a stable substrate behind the gutters, not only providing extra support but also gives a clean, crisp line at the roof overhang! 🏡 We only use cypress, never the spruce whitewood material that twists, warps and rots used by most builders, that is if they even provide a facia board at all! 😲

Framing continues on the Sommerset Road project!

Floor decking not only is 1-1/8” thick BUT it’s glued & screwed in place, not just nailed! All bottom plates of the exterior walls have a 6” sill sealer installed to ensure the top of the floor decking to wall bottom plate connection is air tight!

So basically this means that we don’t cut corners & quality is key! 😁👍🏼

Next step on the Sommerset Road project: Floor joists installed & we patiently wait for underfloor inspections. 🔨

Fun Fact: at Copper Creek we only use the full sized 11-7/8" floor joist with a 1-1/8" floor deck sheathing, not a 9-1/2' joist with 7/8" floor deck sheathing as typical with most builders. Always quality first!!
