Some houses take a weekend. This one took four years. 🏡
I met her back in 2022, showing her houses while she bounced between the midwest, DC, and Jackson for work…not really house hunting so much as what I like to call a plan to plan, if you will. No urgency, just... future tense.
Fast forward to now: she’s married, there’s a 1-year-old with the kind of cheeks that should honestly be illegal, and suddenly the plan had a deadline.
Here’s the fun part…she wanted an old house with character, close to downtown and all Jackson has to offer, all the charm. He wanted the suburbs, space, no close neighbors, and, I cannot stress this enough, a man cave. So basically I was house hunting for two different people who happened to be married to each other, which is its own kind of Olympic sport.
We chased it from Belhaven to Fondren to NE Jackson ( some dabbling in the burbs). Lost one in a bidding war and thought our hearts were broken, until we realized that house was too small anyway. Let another one go because *plot twist* shared plumbing is not a personality trait you want in a home. We weren’t getting picky, just obviously avoiding the “who’s poo is this” convo, and rightfully so.
Then the clock started actually mattering: THEY HAD TO BE HERE, NOW!. So I did what I always do, worked the phones and called in every favor with my agent network. Toured and video’d 5 houses in a single day, 3 of them off-market, because when clients need results, the MLS is only half the story.
And that’s how we found this one. She knew the second she saw the facade. He knew the second he saw the 3-car garage and his very own home office. Turns out you can want completely different things and still recognize the same house the moment you see it.
There’s a reason none of the other ones worked out. They weren’t THIS. Welcome home, you three! 🔑👨👩👧
