Would you ever pay $800,000 OVER asking for a house?

This summer, three Bergen County homes in Ridgewood, Wyckoff and Saddle River sold for more than $500,000 over list price.

The highest was $855,000 over.

These are extreme examples, but they say a lot about this market. When the right house comes on, buyers are still willing to compete hard for it.

For sellers, pricing strategy matters. For buyers, preparation matters even more. You need to understand value, know your ceiling, and be ready to move when the right house hits.
