Great news all around for my town!!!! We are getting so many good things and have been waiting patiently! Our Mayor has taken great pride in listening to all the residents and getting things done!! Can’t wait for all the good food coming our way!!
📢Community Updates – Kicking the Week Off with Positive Momentum!
It was an extra challenging week last week, but this one is starting with progress and promise across West Milford!
❌ Let's stay grounded in the facts. The narrative that “the Township doesn’t approve a business or intentionally holds up progress” ignores the reality. There is consistent, behind-the-scenes work happening every day to support growth.
West Milford is building forward, rooted in honesty, community, and progress. Remember: our residents are the town. If we want to keep local businesses thriving, it takes support from both the Township and the Community. Every meal, service, store!
Business Updates:
• Mr. Wonton is staying right here in town! They've secured a new location and are preparing to reopen. We’ll share specifics once they’re settled. The restaurant has undergone new ownership and management, and feedback since the transition (myself included!) has been overwhelmingly positive.
• Cuban Breeze is bringing even more flavor and additional type of cuisine our community! Located at 3055 Rt. 23N, they’re anticipating an opening in August, possibly sooner. With two other successful locations, we’re thrilled they chose West Milford as their next home.
• Town Tavern – Renovations continue with a new septic system installation, interior upgrades, and exterior improvements. Architectural changes are being finalized. Again, permits are not being held up, we’re ready once the plan documents are submitted.
• Sam’s Bar and Grill (formerly Luc’s) – Awaiting finalized plans from their architect. Permits can only be issued after submission. Their target opening is September 2025, pending final plans and construction.
• Former Cosmo’s location – We're working closely with the property’s ownership to secure two new tenants. Negotiations are progressing well, and we'll share more once agreements are finalized.
• Pioneer – Scheduled for the Planning Board agenda on July 24. Reminder: Agenda placement only happens after a complete application is submitted by the applicant this is standard process across all municipalities. Claims of Township delays are completely false.
• Battinelli Family Farms – A complete application was received on Sept. 18, 2023, and approved on Nov. 28, 2023. Currently, there are no pending applications or request for permits. Development has been in the applicant’s hands since Dec. 19, 2023.
Township Email System:
Our email services remain down, but we've been informed the vendor is actively working on restoring files. While there’s no official ETA, we've been told we're getting closer to resolution. Your messages are valued, we simply can’t access them right now, but updates will follow.
