Matt moved to Silt Mesa from Dallas, Texas in 1998 to raise his family surrounded by the beautifully rugged landscape of Western Colorado, and to immerse them in the values and traditions that thrive here. He applies his broad knowledge of residential and commercial real estate to help families and businesses f

ind their perfect place in these same communities. Since then, he has been involved in the development and construction of approximately 3.5 million square feet of land, office complexes, residential and retail facilities located in Colorado, Texas, Northern Virginia, Southern California, and Missouri valued in excess of $330 million – much of it for publicly traded real estate investment trusts. From 2011 thru 2018 he served as general manager for an investment portfolio valued in excess of $250 million. Matt has been awarded the Real Estate Negotiation Expert (RENE®) certification, the premier negotiation credential in the country. The RENE is conferred by the Real Estate Business Institute, and is an official certification of the National Association of REALTORS®. He also holds the Seller Representative Specialist (SRS®) and Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR®) designations, as well as the Short Sales & Foreclosure Resource (SFR®) and Pricing Strategy Advisor (PSA®) certifications. Over the years Matt has owned and managed real estate, portfolio management, communications, and retail companies while making his home here on the Western Slope. He has also served on the boards of numerous non-profit organizations, and has been an officer of the Rifle Sportsmen’s Club since 2003. He currently serves as 2026 Chair of the Glenwood Springs Association of Realtors and as 2026 Director and Treasurer of the Aspen/Glenwood Springs Multiple Listing Service. Matt realizes becoming a homeowner or relocating your business is a life-changing decision, and he acknowledges the mix of anticipation and anxiety such milestones bring. This week, I had the opportunity to represent the Glenwood Association of REALTORS® in Colorado Springs at the 2026 Colorado Connections meetings as its Chair and a Director for the Colorado Association of REALTORS®.

These meetings are about far more than attendance. They are where statewide leadership, advocacy, legal updates, professional standards, and market realities come together in ways that directly affect our members and the clients we serve.

The conversations this spring centered on issues that matter in every Colorado market: housing supply, affordability, property rights, insurance pressures, regulatory clarity, fair housing, and the legal and risk-management challenges REALTORS® must stay ahead of in a changing market.

CAR has also been actively engaged this session on legislation tied to housing opportunity, property taxation, real estate regulation, consumer protections, and emerging AI policy. Statewide market data continues to show a more balanced, negotiation-driven environment, making strong advocacy, sound information, and professional leadership more important than ever.

Serving in this role allows me to bring the perspective of our local membership into those broader conversations while bringing back insight that helps our members stay informed, protected, and better positioned to serve buyers and sellers here at home.

I’m proud to represent our Association and our Mountain District in these statewide discussions.
