Saturday afternoon.

I know this is a long shot, but I figured I’d try.

You were pushing a cart with exactly one succulent, a gallon of paint you looked very unsure about, and about six things you definitely didn’t come in for.

I was pretending I needed another plant.

Our eyes met.

Just for a second.

You smiled.

I smiled.

You looked back.

Then we both continued wandering Home Depot like it was somehow a social event.

I’ve thought about it ever since.

Maybe I misread the situation.
