Is your home inspector not only an inspector? Our inspectors are licensed and qualified to perform repairs on equipment. We actually know what we are looking at not just guessing. This furnace at our inspectors house went out in the middle of the night. Through some troubleshooting we pinpointed the problem to the igniter power supply from the main board. How many inspectors would have just said you need a new furnace?

We got a call about the electrical in a home acting weird. During the inspection we found this. Loose connections on the back of a plug caused overheating and melting of the wires and receptacle. This can easily cause a fire if ignored. Never ignore unusual electrical issues in your home.

Got a call to try and locate a water intrusion into the basement of a home. Through IR scanning and moisture meters was able to hunt down this downspout to be the cause. The downspout is not extended from the home, allowing water to flow across the foundation until finding a crack to enter the basement. Easy remedy. Thousands of dollars of damage. How often do you change your air filter in your furnace ? This one hasn’t been changed in years. Notice there is a light behind it. A good filter will allow you to see light pass through the filter. If your filter is dirty it can be unhealthy and cause premature failure of your heating and air conditioning. Simple fix. This was found on a home recently inspected.
