Our company provides construction layout to general contractors in the development of public school expansions, government facilities, churches and a variety of other building and infrastructure projects. We also provide services to residential clients in the development of land including physical surveys, boundary adjustments, subdivisions and other related mapping projects. Our company is currently seeking responsible, self-motivated and detail-oriented individuals to join our team of professionals.
Dodd & Associates, PLLC is currently seeking an experienced Land Survey Instrument Operator to join our survey department in Culpeper, VA.
Education, Experience and Job Qualifications:
High School Diploma and minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience.
Valid driver’s license and good drive record. Authorization to obtain DMV record shall be requested for insurance purposes.
Requirements and Duties:
Instrument Operators must have experience with modern total station and data collection equipment and software. The company is currently using Nikon Total Station and Carlson Survey data collection equipment.
Experience in the performance of ALTA Land Title Surveys, Boundary and Improvement Surveys, Topographic Surveys and Construction Layout.
Strict compliance to daily field data and reporting submittals as required for office processing of the survey locations and measurements including field notes, mark ups, data collection files, plans and photographs (if required). Instrument Operator must be able to produce clear and comprehensive field notes.
Instrument Operators must have team player qualities such as a positive attitude, leadership qualities, and represent the company in a professional manner at all times. Further, the operator must be able to perform projects within the established time limits and adhere to company policies and procedures and safety regulations.
Personal protective equipment (PPE) including and not limited to hard hat, safety vest, steel-toed work boots, eye and ear protection and work clothing shall be implemented prior to accessing any work zone area.
Physical ability to stand on varied surface for long periods of time, walk long distances including steep slopes, rocky and brushy, bending, pulling, pushing, and lifting of 30 lbs., climbing, and use of cutting tools, shoveling and the ability to withstand seasonal temperatures and various weather conditions.
The ability to read and understand land records information, plats, civil and architectural plans.
Work overtime as required
Perform other duties as assigned.
