Restoration Housing

Restoration Housing Restoration Housing identifies and develops the rehabilitation of existing structures that can either be preserved or adapted for reuse as affordable housing.

Creating affordable housing options through the rehabilitation and stewardship of distressed historic properties - strengthening neighborhoods and lives, one house at a time. Restoration Housing’s development works on a unique model, which combines historic tax
credits, in-house schematic drafting, tax credit syndication, and construction management. Ultimately, our developments are intended to enhance both timeless buildings and sustainable neighborhoods.

🌿March is Women’s History Month, and we’re proud to celebrate our Executive Director, Isabel Thornton, who was honored this year as one of the women in the City of Roanoke leading meaningful change in our community. We’re grateful for her vision and for the many women whose leadership is helping shape a stronger, more sustainable future for Roanoke.

❤️ We love seeing stories of success coming from the work of our partners at The Grove on Patterson - their commitment is helping build healthier people, stronger families, and more vibrant communities.

Have you ever witnessed a true comeback story — the kind that changes not just one life, but generations?

We have. And we were honored to capture this moment.

This is Stephanie, the very first graduate of The Grove on Patterson in Roanoke, receiving a congratulatory hug from Roanoke Mayor Joe Cobb — a full-circle moment marking not just completion, but transformation.

Grove on Patterson, supported by Virginia Opioid Abatement Authority funding through the City of Roanoke, Virginia - Government, is a specialized residential recovery program that provides up to six months of housing and treatment for pregnant women and new mothers navigating substance use disorder.

Stephanie spent much of her adult life in active addiction. She has now spent the last year in active recovery.

That’s what real investment in recovery looks like.

Not just programs.

Not just funding.

Healthier people. Healthier families. Healthier communities.
