Builder confidence rises in August
It’s encouraging to see builder confidence inch up to 35 this August, even if it’s still below that key 50 mark. The Midwest and Northeast are showing some improvement, while the South and West are holding steady or seeing slight declines. With rising costs, fuel prices, and ongoing economic uncertainty, it’s no surprise that builders continue to face headwinds—yet it’s worth noting that custom and smaller markets are proving to be more resilient. Over the years, I’ve seen firsthand how these shifts can impact both buyers and investors here in the Roanoke Valley and Smith Mountain Lake. Understanding where builders feel most optimistic can help you make more informed decisions about your next move. My goal is always to share local insight and market trends that support your real estate goals, especially as our community continues to evolve.
