If you’re a first-time buyer, Rochester just got a big shout-out.

Realtor.com ranked Rochester, NY #1 among the best markets for first-time homebuyers in 2026.

Their data shows a median listing price of $139,900, and estimates the median-priced home would use about 19.1% of median young-professional income.

Here’s my direct advice:

Median sale price: $166,250 (+4.6% YoY)

Homes sell in about 12 days

Homes get ~5 offers on average

What that means for you:
