Your lawn has a favorite season for repairs.

And surprisingly, it’s not spring.

Fall offers ideal conditions for aeration and overseeding, helping new grass establish strong roots before next summer’s heat arrives. If your lawn is thin, patchy, or showing signs of summer stress, now is the time to act.

Watch to see why fall lawn repair pays off.

Your lawn is getting the VIP treatment... so why does it still look tired?

If you’re fertilizing, watering, and mowing but still seeing thin grass, bare patches, or water pooling on the surface, the problem might actually be under your feet.

Compacted soil makes it harder for water and nutrients to reach the roots, which can keep your lawn from responding to all that care. Core aeration helps loosen things up by removing small plugs of soil, and pairing it with overseeding can help fill in thin areas and build thicker turf.

Fall is a great time to tackle both here in Rochester.

Your dog isn’t the only one sniffing around the backyard.

Mosquitoes bite dogs too, and they can transmit serious diseases like heartworm.

So, what makes mosquito control more pet-friendly? The product matters, but proper application matters just as much. Pets should stay off treated areas until liquid applications have dried.

You can help, too. Empty standing water from dog bowls and bird baths, keep gutters clear, and trim overgrown hedges and treelines.

Fewer places to breed means fewer mosquitoes hanging around you and your four-legged family members.

Watering. Fertilizing. Still seeing a struggling lawn? 🌱

The problem might be underneath your feet.

Compacted soil can make it harder for water, air, and nutrients to reach your lawn’s roots. Aeration helps relieve that compaction, giving your lawn a better foundation for thicker, healthier growth.

If your lawn just isn’t bouncing back, it may be time to look below the surface.

No, your lawn isn't dying...

By late summer, it's completely normal for your lawn to look a little tired. Between the heat, spotty rain, and all the backyard fun, it's under more stress than you might think.

The good news? A few simple changes can help protect it until cooler weather arrives:

✔️ Raise your mower to 3 to 4 inches to shade the soil
✔️ Water deeply, but less often, to encourage stronger roots
✔️ Hold off on heavy fertilizing during extreme heat
✔️ Don't panic if your lawn goes dormant for a while. It's a natural way for grass to conserve energy.

A little patience now can make a big difference when the fall growing season kicks in.

Need help getting your lawn back on track? We're just a call away.
