Last weekend members of the RAVI team and their families proudly participated in the City of Rochester Clean Sweep. Our volunteers helped remove litter, plant flowers, repair sidewalks, remove graffiti, and support a variety of beautification projects across the City.

We’re proud to support this important Citywide initiative and give back to the community we call home. Special thanks to our own Ed Farrell for organizing the RAVI team and making our participation in this fantastic event possible. 🌳 🏙️ 🌷

RAVI is happy to share that our team had a fantastic time at the American Society of Civil Engineers – Upstate New York–Canada Student Symposium. Members of our Survey Team had the honor of serving as judges for the survey competition and were inspired to see the skill and dedication displayed by all participants throughout the event.

Congratulations to all who took part in making this a success, and a special shout-out to the students from Western New England University for taking home the top spot in the survey competition! 🌄👷

Our structural department manager, Tim Wade, P.E., recently attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating the reopening of SUNY Cortland’s Cornish-Van Hoesen Hall C-Wing. 🎉

RAVI provided structural design services for this transformation, including evaluation of the existing structure and reinforcement of exterior steel columns at the lower level and roof. Our team also supported the enclosure of a lower-level walkway with a new foundation wall, CFMF wall systems, and curtain walls for student audio and screening spaces.

Additional contributions included structural support for MEP systems, new floor openings, an elevated floor in the Tomik Gymnasium, and the new stair and elevator tower addition. 🚧 👷‍♂️

We’re excited to share that members of our Survey team have been invited to serve as judges for the upcoming ASCE UESI Surveying Competition at RIT, taking place April 9–11.

This event showcases the critical role of survey engineering within the civil engineering profession, giving students the opportunity to expand their knowledge through self-study, mentorship, and specialized coursework ahead of graduation. Participants will put their skills to the test using industry-standard field and office practices to solve real-world challenges.

We’re proud to have Sean Baldwin, Jon Navagh, Dave Honnick, and Waldin Dilone representing our team as judges, and thank them for their continued dedication to supporting and inspiring the next generation of professionals.

RAVI is proud to announce that our owner and President, Nagappa Ravindra—known to many as Ravi—has received the Finger Lakes Region MBE Award. He was honored at the City of Rochester Upstate NY MWBE Conference on March 30.

He founded Ravi Engineering & Land Surveying, P.C. in 1995 as a one-person operation working from his home in Penfield, NY. Over the past 30 years, he has grown the firm into a team of 104 professionals, providing services in construction inspection, bridge inspection, land surveying, environmental engineering, transportation design, and structural engineering.

We are incredibly proud of Ravi’s achievements and grateful for the leadership and vision he brings to our firm. Congratulations Ravi!
