Today was a fantastic day touring the development progress on Highway 14 East, specifically at the site of a new 30,000-square-foot building currently under construction. Several contractors were on-site, including A.B. Systems, Inc and Komitt Concrete, Inc., with Queen City Construction serving as the lead developer on the entire project.
I recall sitting down two years ago with Aaron Krueger, the owner of Queen City Construction, to discuss this concept and develop a feasibility model. Over the years, we continued our dialogue, frequently assessing market-rate rents and determining how to best align the site with his vision. Seeing it under construction today was truly rewarding. Aaron was in his excavator moving dirt, but he took the time to walk me through the site, describing both the unique opportunities and the hurdles this land has presented.
I commend any developer for taking such risks; their efforts deserve recognition and applause. Investment in our community is essential to create spaces where businesses can start, grow, and thrive. Thanks to developers like Aaron, this much-needed property will feature garage bays, making it an ideal location for a wide variety of businesses. He has thoughtfully designed the space with clear heights of nearly 20 feet in some areas, accommodating companies that require significant racking and storage. While the finished product is still some time away, today marks a significant milestone in the journey. This is a true accomplishment—congratulations to everyone involved, and keep up the excellent work!
