As the school year wraps up, this incredible group of John Adams Middle School students is putting the finishing touches on a playhouse they’ve been working hard on for weeks in support of Family Service Rochester . 🛠️🏠

This project is about so much more than building a playhouse. It’s teamwork, mentorship, learning new skills, and seeing what can happen when local businesses and students come together.

A huge thank you to John Eischen from Carpet One of Rochester, and Jay Burke from Heartwood Homes for dedicating so much time mentoring and working alongside these students throughout the process.

Special thanks as well Kruse Lumber, Knutson Construction, and Home Depot for donating supplies and helping make this project possible.

The Olmsted County Housing and Redevelopment Authority (OCHRA) is accepting applications for its 2026 GAIN program, which provides funding to support the construction of owner-occupied homes priced at or below $350,000.

A total of $3 million is available, with priority given to projects that increase housing supply and expand attainable homeownership opportunities.

Applications are due June 15, 2026.
