The Mainstay Puts the “FUN” in Fundraiser with Annual Fundraiser Event
The Mainstay has always believed that supporting live music ought to be fun. On Sunday, September 13 at 4:00 PM, Rock Hall’s iconic “Home of Musical Magic” plans to prove it.
Rock Hall Rocks, The Mainstay’s Dinner Dance FUNraiser, will bring together great food, live music and plenty of good times under the tent for one of the biggest Mainstay celebrations of the year.
And yes, it is a fundraiser. But for this evening, The Mainstay is putting the emphasis squarely on the FUN.
The featured entertainment will be Club Phred, one of the Mid-Atlantic region’s premier live variety bands. Formed in 2002, the award-winning group brings decades of professional experience to the stage and a musical repertoire that travels through classics, R&B, jazz, funk and dance favorites. The band has also established an extraordinary record of supporting nonprofit organizations through its performances, helping charitable groups raise millions of dollars over the years.
In other words, Club Phred knows how to throw a party for a good cause.
Leading the group is keyboardist and bandleader Fred Dawson, joined by a seasoned lineup of musicians who have made Club Phred a favorite at festivals, concerts and special events throughout the region.
One musician in particular should be of special interest to Mainstay audiences: saxophonist Gaetano “Vinny” Vinciguerra.
A veteran performer with decades of professional experience, Vinciguerra has developed a distinctive sound combining his jazz influences with the power and excitement of rock and R&B. His career has included touring throughout the United States and South America, television appearances, performances in Atlantic City casinos and years performing with the popular Philadelphia-area band Purple Reign. Whether adding a soulful line behind a vocalist or stepping forward and letting the saxophone fly, Vinny brings the kind of energy and musicianship that should feel right at home at The Mainstay.
The evening will include dinner catered by Chester River Seafood, along with special music-themed raffle drawings and a few surprises along the way. Tickets are $125 per person and include both dinner and entertainment.
More importantly, every ticket helps support The Mainstay and its mission of keeping exceptional live music thriving in Rock Hall.
Since opening its doors in 1997, the nonprofit Mainstay has become one of the Eastern Shore’s most distinctive cultural treasures, presenting an extraordinary year-round schedule of local, regional, national and international performers. From jazz and blues to bluegrass, classical music, rock, folk and the wonderfully unpredictable Thursday Pub Nites, The Mainstay has earned its nickname as The Home of Musical Magic.
But that magic doesn't happen by itself.
Fundraising support helps make it possible for The Mainstay to continue presenting outstanding musicians in an intimate listening-room environment while also offering affordable and free programming to the community.
Come have dinner. Listen to a great band. Hear a world-class saxophone player and get up and dance. Spend some time with our wonderful Mainstay familhy, friends and neighbors. And, in the process, help keep live music alive at one of Rock Hall’s most treasured institutions.
