To all my Realtor Friends out there. There is a new scam in town.
Tonight a client I sold a home to last year to rehab went to the home to do some finishing touches only to find a women had re-keyed and entered the home. Claimed she had bought it on Realtor.com and she had a declaration of sale and deed. I immediately told client let me talk to her, I told her someone just got scammed. Asked her where she closed she avoided the question. She continued to say she was the owner. I then instructed my client to call the police . I got into my files and sent my client the deed, closing papers, tax record and internet search of no other sales except theirs. My client thanked me as it helped a lot. The police sited the lady and said if she showed up at this home again they will take her to jail. Heads up!!! Was very scary for my clients. Advised them to get a security system and No trespassing signs posted. Another Interesting day in Real estate.
