Dick keeps a bulletin board for all the sales, listings, and closings each month. This is a picture of the board for May. Dick and Mike had 14 sales, obtained 8 listings, and closed 11 properties. I am very proud of both of them. And the 3 of us finished up the month by playing in the Pecatonica High School Alumni Band in the Pecatonica Memorial Day Parade. Great fun!

I should write on Dick's Facebook more often! Dick is just closing up the year 2016. The Eckburg Team of Dick, Mike, and I just won the Team Award for 2016 for "reaching a sales volume of over 5 million dollars in 2016". I can't take much credit for this, as I just work in the office, but Mike and Dick do the listing and the selling. Key Realty had the annual Christmas/awards dinner last Saturday, January 28th, at JMK Nippons. It was a great evening and we thank our office for treating all of us so well. Nancy

The sales figures for the month of September were announced today at the weekly sales meeting at Key Realty. Dick received trophies last month for most listings, most sale pendings, and most volume listed. This month he only won most listings obtained in September, but Mike tied for 1st place in sold and closed homes and won first place for the most sale pendings. So it is still in the family. The Eckburg Team is alive and well!

We just sent out our "Eckburg Team Times" to 1200 past clients and the lead story was "Sales are Brisk! June 30th marks the half-way point of 2016 and the Eckburg Team has logged 72 sales in the first 6 months! Many of our listings did not last 30 days and our average sale was on the market for only 89 days. The biggest struggle we have encountered has been finding and listing good, saleable homes, as the inventory of available listings of single family homes in Rockford and the surrounding area has remained very low. The bottom line to this is that we need more houses to sell. If you are considering selling your home or investment property, please keep us in mind. We could really use your listing!"

The newsletter was written before Dick won all the trophies, so you can see that he has not slowed down. August was the top sales month for Dick and Mike combined. I just do the paper work. Nancy

The long awaited summer is here and out listings are "flying off the shelf." My file cabinet drawer of listings was packed to the point I had to start another drawer during the winter, and now the drawer is almost empty. If you are considering selling your house, call us!
And if you are considering a career in real estate, take up the art of juggling first. Because the Real Estate business & juggling are almost the same - up & down, up & down. When we have buyers, our listings are down. When we have lots of houses to sell, where are our buyers? It's always a challenge but Dick loves a challenge and he loves selling real estate! - Nancy

Our grandson Thomas Dean Eckburg, son of Joe & Sarah Eckburg, graduated from Hononegah High School on May 28, 2016 as Valedictorian of his class. We are so proud of him and we congratulate him for being so smart, so hardworking,and no nice.
And, he's not the only grandson who achieved a major milestone in May. Benjamin Michael Eckburg, son of Michael Eckburg and Wendy Sogona, gratuated from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, on May 14.
I don't think either of them will pursue a career in Real Estate, but who knows? - Nancy

Key Realty is a "Happening Place" these days. May sales figures were released this week and the agency closed 137 real estate transactions in the month of May. Dick received two plastic traveling trophies for the most units sold and the highest volume of sales in May. We are very proud of him!
Last week the office treated everyone to a pizza party at Joey C's for making the sales goals in April Dick and I were celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary on June 5th, so the party included a beautiful strawberry cake for our anniversary. We appreciated this so much. - Nancy Eckburg

Happy Thanksgiving to you! We hope all of you have much to be thankful for this year. As we hear about all the problems in the world, I think all of us are saying "God Bless America" and being really thankful that we live here.
Time for a message from the Shameless Publicity Department: Dick and I play in the Rock Valley College Old Towne Band. I play the tenor saxophone and Dick plays the trumpet. This year Dick has an extra role. He will be the nerdy Norwegian narrator of the "The Night Before Chrismoose."
The concerts are held in the Rock Valley College Performing Arts Room and they are free.
Friday, December 4th - 7:30pm
Saturday, December 5th - 7:30pm
Our director tells great jokes, kids are invited to come on stage for one number to pop balloons and sit on whoopie cushions, and the music is Dixieland, ragtime, marches, etc.

Interest rates are down. It's a good time to buy a house. Interest rates are going up. It's a good time to buy a house. Winter is coming, school is starting, the prices are going up, the prices are going down - How do we know when to buy a house? How do we know when to sell a house? The answer is: when you want to buy or sell, when you need to buy or sell, when an estate needs to be settled, when you move out of town - there are many reasons and the decision is whatever is best for you. That's the way we operate around here. Dick has talked to people about selling their house and 2 years may go by before we hear from them. That's fine. We are ready to help when they are ready!
