Today, at 10:17 a.m., Placer County will participate in an Emergency Alert Test, along with Sacramento and Yolo counties. The test is in conjunction with the 2019 Great California ShakeOut. The exercise focuses on a state-wide catastrophic earthquake impacting California residents. A test of the Placer Alert mass notification system will be used. Those that have registered their cell phone numbers, emails, as well as all residential landline phones, will be sent a test call, text or email from 1-833-422-5253 (1-833-4-CalAle(rt)).

To be part of the regional test, now is the time to register! Residents can do their part to prepare for emergencies by registering additional cell phones and emails at www.placer-alert.org.
