The Acropolis of Athens and The Parthenon

The Acropolis of Athens is an ancient citadel located on a rocky outcrop above the city of Athens, Greece, and contains the remains of several ancient buildings of great architectural and historical significance, the most famous being the Parthenon. Monemvasia-

The Castle Town of Monemvasia is among the most impressive places in Greece. Located on the southeastern side of Peloponnese, Monemvasia Greece was entirely carved on the backside of a sea rock in Medieval times. This huge sea rock is not visible from the mainland so that the locals could avoid enemy attacks. The only way to reach Monemvasia was by boat, while later on a paved pathway was constructed to connect the castle entrance to the mainland. This is how the name came out, meaning a single passage. A new town has been constructed on the mainland, just opposite the rock. A walk around the Castle Town is a travel to the past, while the sea view from the castle top is breathtaking.

The wind that day did not give up being there for the second time for me this has been the windiest day, but still a place to not pass by! They have many shops and little bars, coffee, places, and actually places that you can read the stay there. It was truly a very pleasant trip regardless of the wind. We actually saw someone climbing up the side of the mountain if I can find the picture, I will post it with more pictures after this post. Thank you and enjoy.

Good bye Kalamata!!

Off again to another adventure. Decided to go through the outskirts of Sparta of my hometown my dad’s hometown a little bit of Sparta, and then to head down to Pounta Beach. This Beach is directly across from Elafonisos Island. So yes you need a ferry to get across! The beach itself was a bit remote - not your normal beach scene with umbrellas and lounge chairs so needless to say we didn’t stay for long!! Decided to head to our next destination Monemvasia which is a small town but an amazing trip up yes another castle!! Enjoy
