My name is Andy Detweiler, I’m the founder of the Rockville Real Estate Exchange, and I’m excited to share with you our plans for expansion in to seven distinct territories within the 20850, 20851, 20852, and 20853 zip codes.
Below, you’ll learn about the positions we have open, what makes you an ideal candidate to fill one, and what the next steps are for those who are interested.
WHO WE'RE NOT LOOKING FOR...
We don’t want to be negative, but we also don’t want to waste anyone’s time so we’ll start with a brief description of who we’re NOT looking for….
If you have a large amount of experience in the industry to the extent you're resistant to change, have seen it all, or know it all...if you tend to start sentences by saying "I've been doing this for 25 years”…not a good fit.
If you consider yourself solely or primarily motivated by money, not a good fit.
If you’re adverse to technology, innovation, or a new way of doing things....for example if you don't think it's necessary to use a CRM or keep notes online….not a good fit.
If you don't ask a lot of questions or are not detailed oriented, not a good fit.
If you would ever put your best interest before clients to close faster or sooner, not a good fit.
If you’re unable to share your expertise or ideas because you don’t want to “give away your secrets”…not a good fit.
If you don't mesh with our core values, which you can find on our website at rockvilleagents.com…not a good fit.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
So who is an ideal candidate?
Someone ethical, hard-working, and smart – in that order.
Someone living in the Rockville area.
Someone who has one to three years’ experience in real estate, either as an individual or on a team.
Someone who is willing and able to use technology to serve their clients better.
Someone who is a lifelong learner and always looking to get better at what they do.
These are the general characteristics we’re looking for but we’re willing to entertain exceptions if it’s otherwise a good fit.
WHAT WE BELIEVE
While we believe strongly in autonomy and personal responsibility, we also believe in the power of working with extraordinary professionals that share the same core values...and getting them into a position that best fits their talents and skillsets.
We believe in training and building processes versus unsustainable, sporadic success…and we hate the phrase “it’s a numbers game.”
We believe it’s important to win not only financially but also emotionally and psychologically....and that no one should ever hate going to work...or hate the people they work with.
We believe real estate doesn’t have to be cut throat and there’s a ton of business out there for the small number of agents truly qualified to earn it.
WHAT IS EXPECTED OF YOU
As a Rockville Real Estate Exchange agent, you would be a 1099 contractor working a defined territory.
How and when you chose to execute would be largely up to you, but we would expect the following things to take place in order to become and operate as a true expert.
Previewing all properties as they hit the market.
Developing and ensuring corresponding website pages (for sale, for rent, and living details) are up-to-date and accurate
Contacting and developing relationships with all applicable citizen associations, HOAs, and other neighborhood players
Contacting and developing relationships with all applicable apartments
Creating videos and corresponding content for neighborhoods
Compiling contact information and notes for neighborhood residents
Networking with applicable local businesses in territory
Answering any questions and interacting on the Next Door platform.
Greeting new neighbors as they move into the communities
Planning and execute community service events in neighborhoods…with our support, of course
Continually educating yourself and looking to become better at what you do
COMPENSATION
Of course, you’ve got to live right.
As part of the Rockville Real Estate Exchange, we’ll provide you the admin support, marketing and lead generation support (online and other wise), technology, in-depth trainings, a built-out intranet, and a tight-knit group of like-minded professionals who realize the benefit of helping others.
There are no desk fees or other silly costs.
We expect you to take all of these things, grow your business, and dominate your territory.
When you do, we’d like to share in your success.
For all deals closed in a Rockville zip code – 20850, 20851, 20852, and 20853, we’ll split commissions 50/50.
For all deals outside of those zip codes, if we provide a lead, it’s a 50/50 split.
For all deals outside of Rockville where you provide the lead, it’s a 70/30 split.
As with everything else, we are 100% committed to transparency and good faith – if you feel your situation deserves a different structure, we’re more than happy to discuss it.
