Should you fix up your house before you sell it?
One of the easiest ways to waste money when you're thinking about selling is to start fixing everything you don't like about your house. New flooring New countertops New appliances or maybe remodel that bathroom you've hated for the last ten years. The important question isn't,
“Would this make my house nicer?”
It's
“Will a buyer pay me more for the house than this improvement is going to cost me?”
Sometimes a few thousand dollars spent on paint, repairs, landscaping and getting the house looking clean and well cared for can make a tremendous difference. If you're considering selling I'm happy to walk your house & tell you what I advise spending money on before putting it on the market.
