As freezing temperatures move into North Texas, here are a few simple things homeowners can do to help protect their home before the cold settles in:

✔️ Set your thermostat no lower than 68°, even overnight
✔️ Let indoor faucets slowly drip to help prevent frozen pipes
✔️ Open cabinet doors under sinks to allow warm air to circulate
✔️ Cover outdoor faucets and disconnect garden hoses
✔️ Replace or clean your HVAC air filter so your system can run efficiently
✔️ Check attic access doors, windows, and weather stripping for drafts
✔️ If you have an outdoor tankless water heater, make sure it’s properly protected

A little preparation now can help prevent bigger headaches later.
