FYI

Starting within the next month, the railroad tracks through our town will once again become active and used by the Providence-Worcester Railroad. The Department of Transportation advised the Town of Rocky Hill that freight trains will be coming through town several times a day at slow speeds. These trains have a mandate to sound a horn at every crossing no matter the time of day. The DOT will be upgrading certain crossing and high traveled areas with signage, but did not specify which ones might be updated. These tracks have been out of use for many years so if you come across railroad crossing signage, please obey all signage. Also, trespassing on railroad property is not only dangerous, it is illegal under Connecticut General Statute 53a-110d.
