A recent Smithsonian article shows that the U. S. is now a young country and will continue to be so in 2050. For example, in 2005 the median age in Japan was about 45, in the U. S. about 35. In 2050 Japan's median age will be almost 60 while the U. S. median age will be about 42. This is one of the benefits of immigration to the U. S.
