Big Boy No. 4014, the world’s largest operating steam locomotive, is making a rare trip through Pennsylvania on its way to Philadelphia for America’s 250th birthday celebration.

Built in 1941, it weighs 1.2 million pounds, stretches 133 feet long, and is the only operating Big Boy locomotive left in the world!

The General Wayne Inn is one of the oldest buildings on the Main Line. It’s also one of the most haunted.
And in 1996, it became the scene of a real-life murder that shocked the Philadelphia suburbs and was later featured on Forensic Files.

The PGA Tour is back at Aronimink… but most people on the Main Line have no idea this course started in West Philadelphia in 1896 👀

What began as a few rough golf holes built by cricket players eventually became one of the most legendary golf courses in America.

After moves through West Philly and Drexel Hill, Aronimink landed in Newtown Square in the 1920s — where legendary architect Donald Ross designed the course we know today.

Now it’s hosting the PGA Championship once again.

The Willows in Radnor didn’t start as a park.

It was originally a 47-acre private estate built in 1910 called Rose Garland. The mansion passed through several prominent Main Line families before being purchased as a wedding gift in 1936 and renamed Maral Brook.

Eventually locals began calling the property “The Willows” because of the willow trees surrounding the pond.

In 1973, Radnor Township purchased the estate to preserve it as open space rather than allow development. Today the mansion and park continue to be protected and restored with the help of Willows Park Preserve.
