This article and graph came out last week from NAR’s(National Association of Realtors) Weekly Housing Market Monitor analysis. According to this, there are more contract signings then there are new homes coming on the market. The inventory just can’t keep up.

Look at this graph and data analysis NAR put out last week in their weekly Housing Market Monitor pamphlet.
One of the reasons the real estate market is in high demand is because rent is going up and mortgage payments are going down. Rates are almost a whole percent different then they were a year ago.
