🏡 Real Estate 101: What exactly is escrow?

If you’ve bought a home before, you’ve probably heard the word escrow — but you may not know exactly what it means or what happens during the escrow process.

Simply put, escrow is a neutral third party that helps safely manage the money, documents, and important steps of a real estate transaction until all agreed-upon conditions have been completed.

From the earnest money deposit and inspections to loan documents and the final transfer of ownership, escrow plays an important role in helping keep everything organized and on track toward closing. 🔑

One thing I’ve learned is that understanding the process can make buying or selling a home feel a lot less overwhelming.

That’s why I’ll be sharing more simple explanations of the different parts of a real estate transaction — so whether you’re buying your first home, selling, or just preparing for the future, you can feel more informed and confident.

One of the greatest compliments I can receive is when a past client trusts me enough to refer me to someone they care about.
This seller came to me through a referral, and from day one, I knew I had two responsibilities: take great care of my new client and make the person who referred me feel confident that they put them in the right hands.
We brought the home to market, generated strong interest and multiple offers, and ultimately closed at $465,000 — $27,000 over the $438,000 list price 💵.
I’m grateful for another successful closing, but even more grateful for the relationships and trust that continue long after a transaction is finished.

Voters are looking to cut this "luxury tax" in LA County.

California voters may decide the fate of local transfer taxes this fall, with several billion dollars in revenue at stake, as a new measure takes aim at Los Angeles’ “mansion tax.”

"There were a total of 118,727 U.S. properties with foreclosure filings during the three months of the year—with Indiana, South Carolina, and Florida recording the highest foreclosure rates for the period. The total includes default notices, scheduled auctions, and bank repossessions. Still, total foreclosure activity remains roughly in line with pre-pandemic levels, and far below the crisis levels seen in the subprime mortgage collapse of 2007."

There were a total of 118,727 U.S. properties with foreclosure filings during the first quarter of 2026 alone.
