Dreaming about buying a home? Love that energy! ๐ก But here is the truth nobody tells you โ jumping in before you are truly ready can cost you thousands and a whole lot of stress. As your Realtor, my job is to set you up for SUCCESS, not just get you to the closing table!
So let's talk about the signs it might be worth waiting just a little longer ๐
๐ฉ Your credit score needs work.
Lenders look at your credit score to determine your interest rate. Even a small improvement in your score can save you hundreds of dollars a month. It is worth the patience!
๐ฉ You do not have enough saved for BOTH a down payment AND closing costs.
Many buyers forget about closing costs, which can run 2 to 5 percent of the purchase price. Make sure your savings cover both before you start shopping!
๐ฉ Your income or job situation is uncertain.
Lenders want to see stable, consistent income. If you are in the middle of a career change or self-employment transition, it may be worth waiting until things settle before applying for a mortgage.
๐ฉ You are buying out of pressure, not readiness.
Whether it is family pressure, FOMO, or feeling like you are falling behind, buying a home before you are truly ready is never the right move.
๐ฉ You have not talked to a lender yet.
Before you fall in love with a home, know your numbers! Getting pre-approved first is always step one.
The GOOD news? Every single one of these is fixable and I can help you make a plan to get there! ๐ Whether you are ready now or working toward it, I am here to guide you every step of the way.
๐ Where are YOU in your home buying journey? Drop it in the comments. No judgment, just help!
